Researching your Topic

 

  1. Search your term on Google

 

  1. Open a new window (Ctrl+N)

 

  1. In the new window, go to Touchgraph Google:  http://www.touchgraph.com/TGGoogleBrowser.html

·        Enter your copied URL where prompted: Starting URL (Ctrl+V)

·        Hit Graph it

 

·        WAIT, the search will take a while

·        Read the touchgraph (it looks like a web)

·        When you see a site that sounds helpful, move the cursor over it

·        Single click gives you information about that site

·        Double click on produces a new touchgraph based on that site

·        Highlight, Ctrl + C to copy URL, Ctrl +N to open a new window, Ctrl + V to paste URL to visit site

 

  1. Note:  Touchgraph is Internet Explorer friendly, but will not show graphs in all internet browsers. You also need to have java enabling loaded for visual webs.

 

  1. Other search engines that you might consider are:

http://www.metacrawler.com

http://www.dogpile.com

            These are engines that search several browsers.

 

 

  1. Bibliography note:  Make sure that you note the URLs for the websites that you are going to use for your project (highlight, Ctrl+C, open word document, Ctrl + V to paste to a word document, then SAVE!  When formatting your bibliography, use this website:
